President Declares Disaster for Alabama Print Email

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to the state of Alabama and ordered federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding during the period of January 22-23, 2012.

Home Builder Confidence Rises Four Points in October Print Email

Builder confidence in the market for newly built, single-family homes rose four points to 18 on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI) for October, which was released today. This is the largest one-month gain the index has seen since the home buyer tax credit program helped spur the market in April of 2010.

List of Improving Housing Markets Nearly Doubles in January Print Email

The number of housing markets showing measurable improvement nearly doubled in January with the addition of 40 new metros to the National Association of Home Builders/First American Improving Markets Index (IMI), released today.  The IMI now boasts 76 improving markets, up from 41 in December, with 31 states and the District of Columbia represented by at least one entry.

Builder Confidence Rises for the Third Consecutive Month Print Email

Builder confidence in the market for newly built, single-family homes edged up two points from a downwardly revised number to 21 on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI) for December, released today. This marks a third consecutive month in which builder confidence has improved, and brings the index to its highest point since May of 2010.

NAHB International Builders' Show Kicks Off Registration with Discounts Available Through September Print Email

September 1, 2011 - The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) today officially opened online registration for the 2012 NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS), the largest annual light construction tradeshow in the world. Considered the premiere building industry event, the 2012 show, to be held in Orlando, Fla., Feb. 8-11, features impressive deals for both members and non-members who register before the end of September on things such as registration fees and education sessions.
