Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) is an exclusive professional designation designed to emphasize business management skills as the key to a professional remodeling operation. CURRICULUM / REQUIREMENTS: The PREP is a three (3) hour 130-question multiple-choice assessment to measure your knowledge and experience in the five (5) core areas of remodeling business management. LaserGrade administers the PREP exam at more than 600 testing locations across the country. Contact LaserGrade at (800) 211-2753 to schedule your PREP exam. LaserGrade's national call center is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific Time and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, or visit them at www.lasergrade.com. The fee for taking the PREP is $195. *Results of the PREP determine the amount of coursework (0-2) in each of the five core areas the candidate is required to complete to obtain the designation:
Once you have completed the courses determined by the PREP, you will need to fill out the graduation application. Along with the graduation application you will need the following: 1. If you are an employee, you must submit a letter of sponsorship from your employer. Submit your application along with the required documentation and the graduation fee of $145 for members and $245 for non-members to The NAHB University of Housing and you will receive your official CGR graduation kit in about four to six weeks. CONTINUING EDUCATION To maintain your CGR designation you are required to renew it annually ($50 for members and $75 for non-members) and complete a total of 12 hours of continuing education every three years. A minimum of six hours is required to come from The NAHB University of Housing educational activities and a maximum of six hours may be earned through one of the industry-related educational activities listed below. Attendees are required to submit proof of attendance for each event or activity (copy or registration confirmation, show badge, course certificate, etc.) with their CE Form. If a building designation was achieved a copy of the certificate should be attached. The NAHB University of Housing education (minimum of 6 hours required)
