To reach older students, the HBAA started a statewide Career Day Program. HBAA staff and builder members visit Career Day Programs at various high schools and civic centers, speaking to students about the many career opportunities in the home building industry. If you would like someone to speak to your students at a Career Program, send a request to margiewalters@hbaa.org.
In addition, the Foundation helps fund brochures educating students, parents, and high school counselors, coaches, and teachers about career opportunities in the home building industry. Currently, there are two brochures available, "Worried About Their Future?" which is geared to teachers, coaches, parents and counselors, and "Build Your Future Plans," which is aimed at students. If you would like copies of either brochure, send a request to info@hbaa.org. In your e-mail, list your address and how many copies you will need.
Leaders from the Home Builders Association of Alabama throughout the state attend local career days. For a list of career days we have scheduled, please take a look at our calendar of events.
