us capitolThe HBAA's Governmental and Regulatory Affairs program is designed to give Alabama's home building industry a strong voice on the local, state, and national stage. The HBAA accomplishes this through supporting legislation and regulatory rules that strengthen the industry and have a positive impact on the state's economy. Through direct lobbying and grassroots mobilization, the HBAA strives to ensure that everyone can work together to "Build a Better Alabama."

In addition to lobbying for the home building industry, the Governmental Affairs program provides other benefits exclusively to HBAA members:

The Legislative Alert is published every Friday during the Legislative session. The Alert gives members updates on the HBAA's efforts to protect and promote the homebuilding industry at Alabama's Statehouse. The Alert also tracks the status of various bills of interest to the homebuilding industry.
